Summer Drinks
Come summertime, you may be thinking: beach, heat and fun. So stay cool this summer and impress your friends by making these homemade drinks that are unbelievably easy to throw together. Keep your thirst quenched and your body feeling refreshed!
Lemon Lime Spritzer
Lemons and limes add delicious citrus flavor to any drink. They’re also known for cleansing your palette.
You will need:
A jug
Lemons
Limes
Ice
Sparkling water/seltzer
Instructions:
1) Add ice (preferably cubed; crushed ice tends to melt faster) to a jug of your choice (depending on how many people you’re serving) Fill the jug halfway.
2) Using your hand, put medium pressure onto your lemons and limes (not enough pressure to squish them) and roll them back and forth. Doing so helps release the juices, so the juice will be easier to squeeze out.
3) Next, cut lemons and limes into halves or thirds (whatever is easier for you to be squeeze) and squeeze the lemon-lime juice over the ice in the jug. Then drop what’s left of them into the jug as well.
4) Fill the jug up with a bottle of seltzer (original flavor or the lemon-lime flavor — your choice) and you’ve got yourself a nice cold refreshing drink to serve or enjoy in hot weather!
Tropical Island Water
Tired of drinking water all summer? Try this recipe for a burst of fruits to that’ll help freshen up your summer!
You will need:
A jug
Blueberries
Raspberries
Blackberries
Ice
Water
Instructions:
1) Fill a jug halfway with ice.
2) Next, add the fruit (blueberries, raspberries and blackberries are suggested, but you can add any other fruit you like) to the ice.
3) Fill the jug up with water (or sparkling water if you want something fizzy) and you’ve got yourself a fruity refreshing drink!
June Bug
A really easy-to-make delicious drink, perfect for summer.
You will need:
3 cups Ginger ale
4 tablespoons Grenadine
4 tablespoons Orange juice
3 scoops Orange sherbet
Blender
Instructions:
Blend all ingredients in blender and serve over ice.
(Virgin) Sneaky Beach cocktail
A favorite summertime drink (that looks really pretty also)!
You will need:
8fl Ounces Pink Lemonade
Strawberries
Watermelon
1 cup Sparkling water/Seltzer
Ice (optional)
Instructions:
1) Add one cup of seltzer to your pink lemonade (add ice if you prefer).
2) Wash, slice strawberries into halves and add.
3) Slice and add pieces of watermelon.
(Virgin) Frenchy
You will need:
1 1/2 oz Pear Juice
3 oz Pineapple Juice
1 oz Cranberry Juice
Instructions:
Add all ingredients and serve over ice.
(Virgin) Beach Bum
You will need:
½ bottle (4fl ounces) sparkling water/seltzer
1/2 cup orange juice (no pulp)
a handful of Maraschino Cherries (optional)
1 dash Grenadine
Fresh Mint
1 part Fresh Lime Juice
Ice (crushed)
Jug
Instructions:
1) Fill jug with crushed ice and add lime juice, orange juice, grenadine and sparkling water.
2) Stir.
3) Stir in cherries and garnish with fresh mint.
(Virgin) Sangria
A refreshing fruity drink served best in the summertime!
You will need:
16 ounces Cranberry juice
16 ounces Apple juice
12 ounces ginger ale
one bunch of grapes
sliced peaches
sliced apples
sliced strawberries
a handful or two blueberries
Ice (cubed)
Jug
*You may use whichever fruits you prefer, but these are recommended.
Instructions:
1) Add all juices in jug.
2) Mix in fruits.
3) Add ice and serve.
