Take out your phone for a moment, I wouldn’t doubt it’s close by. I'm also sure you just checked your latest text or browsed some tweets. Our obsession with our smart phones in this day and age is incredible; it's as if we treat them like our children. Think about it. We take them everywhere we go, we protect them, and we even dress them up. It seems like this year especially, phone cases have...

Pheromones

My heart was changing unwillingly.
Bass boomed through my breast plate to my loyal heart.
I pressed hard on my chest,
like a victim in the midst of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
I fight to continue staring ahead and not to move back.
This is where you--
when we--
where I--
When my life was altered permanently and unwillingly.

Choosing a Major

“What do you want to be when you grow up?” As a child, this answer was simple: a fireman, an astronaut, a princess! The possibilities seemed endless. However, as students reach college and reality kicks in, this simple question becomes inconceivable.

MLB Playoff Preview

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Thousands of fans from across the nation bundle up, prepare for radical changes in temperature, and make their way out to the ballpark to root, root, root for the home team.

I’m in touch with my manhood. I love cars, root for the hometown teams, and blast blatantly offensive hip hop on a daily basis.

Because We’re Curious

Walt Disney once said, “We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”

Pure Fantasy Week 3

Week Three: Always Start Your Studs

Normally, I'd consider Week Four a bit too late to start a fantasy football column. But I suppose I can an exception in my own case. Am I biased? Sure, but there's nothing you can do about it.

Part of Me

Ever since I saw Katy Perry’s concert movie Katy Perry: Part of Me, I have generally shunned the radio while driving. Instead, I opt for the Katy Perry CD mix that I made after watching the movie. The windows are down and the mood is good as songs like “California Girls” and “Wide Awake” blare.

The Art of Organized Chaos

One of the most overwhelming things in the world has to be the first week of school. Each professor hands out their own syllabus, containing attendance policies, late policies, and dates of all the tests you have for the semester. The syllabus may or may not also include a daily or weekly outline of all the assignments, group projects, and readings their students have for the entire semester.
