Typical Girls
Whatever happened to rebellious, edgy and utterly fabulous girl rock? All my single ladies haven't had a legitimately rocking movement since those Riot Grrrls took the Pacific Northwest by storm in the early 1990s. It's high time for the emergence of a another trend that rails against the manufactured, polished and quite frankly cutesy vibe that is pervasive in much of the music made by female artists today.
And with that, here comes today's Greatest Song Ever Written: "Typical Girls" by The Slits from the album Cut, which was released in 1979.
P.S. I'm nominating the lead singer Arianna Forster for the Best Dancing in Any Music Video Ever award.
