Welcome back
February 21st, 2007
I’d like to welcome those of you new to the Editors’ Blog, and welcome back those of you who have followed the blog in the past. iMPrint values each and every reader we have, and we appreciate that you continue to visit the site in this busy, busy digital world. Thank you for your continued support.
First, I believe an introduction is in order. My name is Greg Ryan, and I am the new editor-in-chief of iMPrint Magazine. Chris Baxter, iMPrint’s founder and previous editor-in-chief, is studying in South Africa this semester, and passed on his duties as editor-in-chief to me in January (you can check on how Chris is doing at www.chrisbaxteronline.com). I will hold the position of editor-in-chief for the entirety of 2007, at the end of which another editor-in-chief will be selected.
I am absolutely thrilled to be given the opportunity to serve as iMPrint’s editor-in-chief. I have been a member of iMPrint’s staff since the magazine’s inception in 2004, first as a staff writer, and then as the Life editor in the fall of 2006. We at iMPrint have a few new ideas we’re very excited about implementing over the next few months, features which will hopefully make iMPrint even more informative, interactive and user-friendly than it already is. These new features will be revealed in another post in the near future- be sure to check out iMPrint and the Editor’s Blog regularly for updates.
I am happy to announce that iMPrint’s first new batch of stories for the spring of 2007 has been posted to the site. “Senior citizens hit the books,” by Elizabeth Getman, examines what it’s like to be in a student over 60 in today’s American university. “Not just background music,” by Jacqueline Marmo, looks at the world of television music supervision, and how a song goes from musical obscurity to being featured in the key scenes of your favorite television shows.
Please keep in touch with the writers and editors of iMPrint and myself. This site was designed to give college students a voice, and we value every bit of feedback we receive. If you have any ideas, comments, questions or suggestions about the site, please do not hesitate to leave a comment on the blog or to send me an e-mail at gregryan1@gmail.com.
Be sure to check out the site regularly, as new stories and blog posts will be posted every week. Thank you again for your readership, and happy surfing!
