Not many people would sit down and read over one thousand pages of the stimulus package—that goes for the congressmen and women who passed the bill. Then again, no one is really responsible understanding everything that is in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009—well, except elected officials.

Once a year, high-end restaurants in every major U.S. city open their menus for a week of slash-priced meals, at around thirty dollars a head. This, splurge-deprived restaurant-goers, is called Restaurant Week. Clientele shifts, tables fill, and dishes like foie gras with fig are eaten, guiltlessly, in excess.

There are thousands of college students set to graduate in 2009, many entering directly into the headwinds of a recession that has claimed hundreds of thousands of jobs in the past year. 

Economic disaster has quickly swept across the country. In October 2008, millions of Americans watched their financial investments disappear and hundreds of thousands have lost their jobs since. 

To alleviate extreme revenue loss, businesses nationally have laid-off an unprecedented number of employees, and the number of available jobs is steadily dwindling.

“Why hasn’t he called me yet?”

This question is one that haunts cohorts of girlfriends across the globe. No matter how obvious it is, most women don’t like to admit that they can’t bag the current man of their dreams.
